Tom
Alborg is our senior partner, and has been in
practice since 1973. He holds Martindale Hubbell's highest "AV" rating,
and was recently identified as a Northern California “Super Lawyer.”
Tom is a seasoned trial attorney representing financial institutions,
title insurers, and corporations in business and real property matters.
Tom also supervises all class action litigation for our firm.
During his broad career, Tom was Regional Counsel for Safeco Title
Insurance Company in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and a senior
partner with the commercial firm of Ross, Ivanjack and Alborg. Mr.
Alborg formed the law firm of Alborg, Bothel & Dictor in 1984,
the predecessor to Alborg, Veiluva & Epstein LLP.
Tom was admitted to the California Bar in 1973. He is also admitted to
practice in the U.S. District Court, Northern, Southern, Central and
Eastern Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth
Circuit.
Tom graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a
B.A. cum laude, in 1970, and from the University of Southern California
Law School with a J.D, in 1973. Tom was a member of the University of
Southern California Law Review, 1972 - 1973. He authored "Application
of Securities Doctrine of Integration to Real Estate Syndicates,"
University of Southern California Law Review, Vol. 46, pp. 428-460,
1973. He was also a member of the Law Center Moot Court Board. Tom is a
member of the American Bar Association and the Bar Association of
Contra Costa.
Tom has participated in numerous seminars and speeches on a range of
topics to the real estate industry, as well as lawyer-peers. He
welcomes the opportunity to give his perspective on the practical
application of the law to the complexities of the real estate industry,
and listeners find his focused presentation both fun and informative.
Tom was born in Chula Vista, California, on June 4, 1948. He is
married, with four grown children, and currently resides in Walnut
Creek.
