Denae Budde has substantial
civil litigation experience in a
variety of different areas of the law, including business, commercial,
real
estate, professional liability, products liability, class action,
insurance bad
faith, and personal injury related matters. Denae enjoys collaborating
with
clients to form creative and cost-effective solutions to complex legal
problems. Her
experience includes a $53 million dollar
multi-district litigation surety dispute that stemmed from a $300
million Ponzi
scheme. Where early
and efficient case
reduction is not possible, Denae has strong advocacy skills to set the
stage
for dispositive motions and trial.
Denae provides over 15 years of litigation experience having tried over
50
criminal and civil cases before a jury and the Court encompassing a $24
million
insurance coverage jury trial and rape and carjacking cases. Denae is highly skilled in
the rules of
evidence and the rules of civil and criminal procedure. She
is experienced in
evaluating complex coverage
matters for insurance clients and in handling coverage and “bad faith”
litigation. Denae
is active with the
local bar association, as a board member of the Women's Section of the
CCCBA
which provides annual scholarships to law students, and as a member of
the real
estate section and as a member of the Contra Costa County chapter of
the Robert
G. Mc Grath Inn of Court. Denae
graduated from University
of Santa Clara
in 1993
and was a Comments Editor of the Computer and High Technology Law
Journal. After
earning her Masters in Education, from
the University
of California, Los Angeles
(UCLA) in 1986, she taught elementary school
for four years. Denae
also received her
Bachelor's degree in sociology from UCLA in 1985.
Denae is licensed to practice
in California,
the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District
Courts for
the Northern Southern and Eastern District’s of California.
Denae
was born in Mountain
View, California
in
1963. She is married with 3 children and currently resides in Moraga, California.
