Mr.
Epstein was admitted to the bar in December 1993, and spent
the first six years of his career with the law firm of Gordon
& Rees, LLP in San Francisco. Over the years, Mr. Epstein's
practice has focused on the defense of insurance carriers
in coverage and bad faith litigation, the defense of product,
premises liability and professional negligence cases, as well
as the representation of property owners, title insurance
companies and mortgage lenders in real estate litigation.
More recently, Mr. Epstein has represented plaintiffs in class
action lawsuits against financial and lending institutions
stemming from violations of the Federal Truth-in-Lending Act
and the Federal Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act.
Mr.
Epstein was admitted to the California Bar in 1993. He is
also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Northern,
Central and Eastern Districts of California and the U.S. Court
of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. He graduated from University of
California, Davis with B.A. in Political Science in 1989 (Deans
List Honoree); and from University of San Francisco School
of Law, with J.D. in 1993. He has been a contributing author
on two published articles regarding case law developments
in the area of insurance coverage, and was one of two featured
speakers at a National Business Institute seminar on premises
liability in March 2002.
Mr.
Epstein is a member of the American Bar Association (Tort
and Insurance Practice Sections), Alameda County Bar Association,
Executive Committee of the University of San Francisco Inn
of Court, and the Association of Defense Counsel for Northern
California.
Mr.
Epstein's practice emphasizes real property and title insurance
litigation, business litigation, professional liability and
tort defense, and financial institutions and lending law.
Mr.
Epstein was born in Yuba City, California, on January 9, 1967.
He is married with two children and currently resides in Oakland,
California.
