Darrell
Martin was admitted to the State Bar of California in December 1997,
and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts
for the Northern, Eastern and Central Districts of California, as well
as the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern and Eastern
Districts of California. Prior to joining the firm Darrell worked
for the law firm of Keesal, Young & Logan in its San Francisco
office, as well as a Deputy District Attorney for the Contra Costa
County District Attorney’s Office. Darrell joined the firm in
January 2006.
Darrell’s practice includes real estate and title insurance litigation,
in which he represents title insurance companies and their insureds
(including homeowners, mortgage lenders, and construction lenders) in a
wide variety of disputes, including title and escrow related claims,
priority disputes between competing lien holders, mechanic’s lien and
stop notice litigation. Darrell’s practice also includes legal
representation of commercial lenders, providing foreclosure support,
prosecution of actions for enforcement of loan obligations, including
judicial and non-judicial foreclosures, writs of attachment/possession,
bankruptcy representation, and loan workouts.
Darrell received his Juris Doctorate degree with Distinction from the
University of Pacific - McGeorge School of Law. Prior to earning
his law degree, Darrell received a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Government from California State University - Sacramento in 1993, where
he was a Dean’s List honoree. During law school, Darrell was a
Staff Writer for the Pacific Law Review, participated in the Trial
Advocacy Honors Team, and was a member of the Traynor Society.
Darrell donates time each year to serve as a judge for McGeorge School
of Law’s annual mock trial competition. He is a member of the Contra
Costa County Bar Association, and also enjoys sports, home remodeling
and traveling.
Darrell was born in Sacramento, California in 1970. He is
married, and resides in Orinda, California.
